This site is a family history and genealogy about the Mylott family of Whitehall and Waterford AND the Glode-Poissant family of Champlain and Waterford. Whitehall, Champlain, and Waterford were all towns along the Champlain Canal in New York State where these families lived.
Milo Benjamin Mylott and Edith Lida Glode were married on January 10th, 1910 in Waterford, Saratoga County, New York. He was a direct descendant of Pierre Nicolas Damien Milot dit Champagne, a soldier who came to North America to fight for France in the Seven Years War. His family was a blend of French soldiers and farmers from Quebec and New England Yankee families including Kingsley, Palmer, Johnson, Cole, who moved north and west from the Atlantic coast after the American Revolution.
Edith Lida Glode’s family were also descendants of Quebec pioneers who eventually moved south during the height of canal transportation i the 19th century.
